The Iowa State Historical Building allows its visitors to peer into the history of the state by using a series of state-of-the-art exhibits. These interactive exhibits include "Portrait of a Governor", artifacts and information on those who served the state as governor, and "Iowa Medal of Honor Heroes", a beautiful area that tracks the lives and deeds of the 108 Iowan citizens who have been awarded the Medal of Honor. The museum is located in the heart of downtown, just a few blocks west of the state capitol.
